Before strict social distancing was ordered I was still outside doing portraits and I thank God that Chelsea, Ben, and I were able to get together for their rain check engagement session date and capture these sun-filled images! And at this adorable farm – their farm and house! I always ask my couples to take me to their special place for their engagement session – that can be anywhere for some people but for Chelsea & Ben, it’s their own home and land and my goodness it was so lovely! Sometimes I don’t know what I’m getting myself into when I arrive on location but I definitely lucked out… there were some sweet little nooks and perfect pickets of light and I was giggly most of the evening with them because of it!

If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, you’ll know this already but it’s worth mentioning time and time again…
My firstborn, Graeme Thomas, turned 5 years old on April 1st!
When I mentioned to him on his birthday, while he was playing with this new Transformers toy given to him that morning as a birthday gift from Neil and myself, that we needed to hop in the studio for a few minutes to take his 5 year portraits, he dropped what he was doing and said, “Let’s do it now so I can play for the rest of the day and not worry about it.” I couldn’t help but laugh because that’s not usually his response to taking a break from playing. But he does this all the time though – surprises me with his random mature thoughts and ideas. Sometimes I forget that he’s no longer 3 years old.

When Cambria said I had full creative control over this mommy and me maternity portrait session I had a very specific vision in mind. And I could not be more proud of how these images turned out! Both Cambria and Willow did so amazing and with very little direction. And what a better way to prepare to welcome Baby Girl #2 than with this light filled, warmer than usually, late winter day mommy and me session?

My Studio Assistant, The New RHP Team Member We are so excited to introduce to you Jenni, our new Studio Assistant! Jenni is an answer to prayer. I realized that we needed to hire someone pretty quickly this fall, because of everything that was happening in RHP! I was coming off of summer portrait season […]

It’s sad to think I’ll never photograph another birth of the Tucker sisters! The very first birth I’ve ever photographed was Kortney’s oldest sister, Kelly’s birth with Khloe. Then came Kortney’s first, Teagan and her second, Lynley. Four months ago we welcomed Keisha’s second, Blair.

How can it be? Our first daughter, our second and also last baby, turns two today (at precisely 1:36pm)! Ive been planning her birthday party (that’s tomorrow) for almost two months at this point so I can’t say that this day snuck up on me. In fact, it feels like January lasted 2-3 times as […]
