I’m just like most people when it comes to the cold. I’d rather not be out in it and since winter is suppose to cold, even in Kentucky, that usually means that outdoor portraits are few and far in between during mid December to mid March. (Snow portraits are a different story and it could be 9 below and I’ll be there!). So when you see winter outdoor portraits on the blog, it either means that the session itself is time sensitive OR that it just so happened to be a very warm winter day. For Nicole & Jordan, BOTH reasons were the case for their maternity session! And boy, we were so grateful for the warm day because they had their hearts set on outdoor portraits and we literally couldn’t wait much longer to shoot these!

For an early December day, we really could have hoped for more beautiful weather than what we had this past Saturday in Paducah! I prayed for exactly that for Rachael & Cory because we all had such vision for their wedding and I think it lived up to the hype!

Neil and I arrived to the girl’s getting location – The Tribeca Guesthouse – to a bustling atmosphere filled with bridesmaids singing at the top of their lungs as they got ready and entertained Rachael, who was sitting in the makeup chair. They were in the middle of her makeup application and she already looked stunning and her hair wasn’t even done yet! While Neil continued to photograph the ladies, the videographer and I made ourselves comfortable capturing the bridal details and it felt like we were waited on hand and foot by Rachael’s bridesmaid. Everyone was so helpful and not just while they were getting ready, but the entire day! Rachael really knows how to choose her ladies! An excited, supportive, eager, and helpful bridal party can make or break your day!

How fitting is it that right now I’m gearing up to announce my spring at the greenhouse mini sessions and this time last year is when Jessie emailed me to tell me that, along side anniversary portraits of her and Zeb, she’d also like pregnancy announcement images. UM OK! <- major downplay of my response to her request! Fast forward to the end of November 2019, when I arrived at their hospital room to photograph Baby Macie's fresh baby portraits!

This sweet baby boy! I had the privilege of photographing his birth a couple of weeks before his newborn session and in those short days, he had already grown so much! But babies do that, don’t they?
