An In Home Lifestyle Newborn Session | Paducah, Kentucky

Baby William, or Sir William as I like to call him, entered this world a few months ago and has already changed so much since these newborn portraits! As all parents know, babies really do change so quickly in appearance and so much more – that’s why I have a passion for lifestyle newborn portraits – images from these sessions not only show their tiny little features when they’re days old, but also how small they were in a dad’s arms, how they fit up against mom’s chest. Baby will never be this small again and it should be documented!

A Shelby Farms Park Wedding | Memphis, Tennessee

After their engagement session, I knew exactly where I planned to take Morgan & Ethan for their bride & groom portraits on their wedding day – a benefit of shooting one of their engagement outfits at their wedding day venue and the surrounding area! So that was one task I was able to check off my to-do list for when I arrived at Shelby Farms Park that say. Next up, wedding party and family portraits location – the sun was high in the sky so I needed plenty of shade (large groupings) and a pretty background too! I ended up choosing the front of the venue building because of the giant windows that had shades covering on the inside and the reflected outside a hill of talks trees. I was thrilled! Also, it meant I would stand my subjects on the off white sidewalk – natural light reflector for their faces! Win!

I could go on and on about their venue location but what really stood out to me and Neil that day was:

Morgan’s smile! It covers her face in the most flattering way and you instantly know exactly how she feels! I already knew this about Morgan but Neil didn’t and therefore, commented on it right off. “She has such a great infectious smile”! Yes, I KNOW! And it only made their portraits that much better! So, how did she feel alllll day long on her wedding day – as most people expect a bride to feel – overjoyed!

Morgan & Ethan shared a private first look. As in, even I wasn’t allowed in the room to photograph it! To say I was confused by this plan when Morgan first told me of it a month before the wedding would be an understatement. I’ve never even heard of a first look where it wasn’t photographed. BUT after they exited their ceremony room having already done their first look in complete privacy, I was no longer bothered by it. They wanted a first look so that they would be able to share that time to get their nerves out of the way together, alone. They didn’t need it documented. They just needed it for themselves. And I totally get it now!

A First Baptist Church of Paducah and Walker Hall Wedding | Paducah, Kentucky

Arella & Price’s two baby bundles of joy were freshly born when Arella text me about photographing their wedding. They were already engaged and intending on getting married before their happy surprise but decided to postpone the wedding until the twins were closer to 6 months old to make everything a tad easier on them. Smart for sure! And of course we were then able to get some adorable pictures of the girls!!! I just love babies so I was more than happy to do it – and then later, followed the babies around the dance floor as they “partied” the night away – until bedtime that is!

I couldn’t get enough of this wedding for many reasons: Arella is the sister of a past bride so I already was in love with their whole family, their momma had recently had a heart transplant and was healthy and happy to be there for her daughter, Price’s reaction to seeing Arella for the first time walking down the aisle toward him (all the heart eyes!!!), the many adoring glances both Arella & Price gave their girls throughout the ceremony… But maybe my favorite thing was the way Price looked at Arella every chance he got – the same look every time and I about died each time because it was so fully of adoration and love! They are each other’s perfect match and I couldn’t be happier for them that they not only found each other, but that they were able to stay together through so many trying times and come out on the other side even stronger and more in love!

A Lowertown and Noble Park Engagement Session | Paducah, Kentucky

I first met Cassie when she booked a full boudoir shoot with me almost two years ago. I had such a blast shooting with her and apparently she felt a connect as well because we chatted after her session for almost the same amount of time that we shot and one of the things we’d talked about was shooting together again. She’d said, whenever I get married (she wasn’t dating anyone at the time!) I’m calling you!

Fast forward to not even three months ago – I’d seen her recent Facebook post and was hoping she’d remember her “promise” but wanted to give her her space to enjoy being engaged before I asked for a sit down. Of course she hadn’t forgotten because she CALLED me out of the blue to say she was getting married in October OF THIS YEAR and please tell her I’m available! I just so happened to be so we got to planning and quick!

Bridal consult – check! Officially booked – check! Engagement session shot – check! Questionnaire completed and timeline finalized – check! Wedding – THIS SATURDAY!
