With Katy & Bret’s wedding coming up in a few months, we started planning for their engagement session last week. We looked at a few dates during the end of August and beginning of September and moved on to selecting a location. Katy wanted a sunflower field and who am I to say no to a sunflower field?! Turns out were both thinking of the same field but little did we know that the blooms would start wilting within a week! Katy scrambled to find an outfit she loved and we landed on the next date that she and Bret both had off together. It was totally last minute but we made it work and I’m so glad we did!
Katy only had time to find one outfit and it was hot and humid so we decided to just do one location and only shoot for an hour. Because of the time of day and the fact the sunflowers need – you guessed it! – sun, I stepped out of my comfort zone and shot in full sun. And I have to say, I loved the practice! But then the sun began to set and the yummy light spread over the field and my photographer heart sighed.
