An Overcast Sunset Beach Day After Session in Destin Florida

WHY do I include a Day After Session for all of my destination weddings? More often than not, the typical destination wedding either costs more money (for obvious reasons) OR you spend the same as a local wedding or less but you have less in attendance. Both reasons lend to the bride & groom wanting to spend more time with their guests because their guests made the journey (and spent the money) for a reason. I want my couples to get everything and more out of their destination wedding experience so instead of keeping them from their guests to capture all of those gorgeous beach portraits – because, face it, that’s one of the main reasons couples want a beach wedding! – I don’t take on more bride & groom portrait time on the wedding day. I include the Day After Session!

For Taylor & Shawn, that meant we got together the evening after their wedding day, chose a beach that was secluded and wide open, and took our time doing portraits. Of course, we took bride & groom portraits on their wedding day but we didn’t want to steal too much time from their guests. AND it was raining during portrait time – even better reason to designate MORE portrait time in their wedding down and suit!

I could not love these images more! Sure, it was a tad more overcast than I prefer and the water was a little brown from all the rain we’d had the day before but despite all that, their portraits turned out beautiful and romantic and THAT’S exactly what you want for this type of session!
