When I send my brides their Wedding Day Timeline, I also send over a list of details that I like to photograph when I first start my work of capturing their wedding day – The Bridal Details. If at all possible, I try to photograph these details first and get them out of the way for three reasons: 1) it helps me get in a “wedding mood”, 2) it helps me get a feel for their wedding, and 3) it’s usually stuff that the bride is about to put on and wear for the rest of the day!
Again, not every photographer is the same but the following details are on my list: the bride’s dress, the bridesmaids’ dresses, the bride’s bouquet, the bridesmaids’ bouquets, the engagement ring and both wedding bands, all jewelry the bride intends on wearing, all stationary used in and for the wedding, bride’s hair pieces, perfume the bride is wearing, grandmother’s pearls, and anything and everything else you can think of!
Even though I call them Bridal Details, it doesn’t just list items that pertain to the bride but also the groom!
