Georgia’s First Year of Life

Georgia’s Milestone Portraits, Month 1-11

Anyone who has a child knows how that changes you. Being a mom is my favorite job of all the things I do and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But’s also the hardest thing I’ve ever done. If you’re a mom you may be aware of something called postpartum depression. What a lot of people don’t realize is that there’s also a thing called postpartum anxiety. And I had it. And I knew it but I didn’t know what could be done about it so I didn’t do or try to do anything about it.

Almost every aspect of my life, outside of being a mom, suffered after having Georgia but I had so much pride in how much I was rocking at being a mom of a new baby and a preschooler that I was afraid to change anything <- Thus the anxiety! I had tunnel vision during Georgia’s first 6 or so months that even though I saw that my business was slipping, I focused on what I HAD to focus on above all – my children. I struggled with finding balance and although I continued shooting and delivering images, I fell behind on the minor parts of my business that I once thrived at – blogging. Not only personal blog posts but photography client blog posts didn’t get done.

Thankfully, because I was still doing a good job otherwise (even though inside I was chaos) my clientele didn’t mind the lack of blogging and I’m still here and my business is still here and doing better than ever. But more importantly, I out grew my postpartum anxiety, I’m better and I now, I’m trying to get caught up on everything that I missed in the blogging world.

One thing is sharing Georgia’s monthly milestone portraits!
