A Murray Kentucky Wedding
It’s a privilege to photograph anyone’s wedding. Just to even be considered, let alone hired, is an honor! To photograph your high school best friend’s wedding? That’s excitement on a whole other level!
The week leading up to my high school best friend’s wedding was pointing toward rain all the live long day. Tamela, understandably, was concerned but prepared herself by purchasing umbrellas and rain boots, just in case! Boy were we all pleasantly surprised when Saturday morning came and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky! In fact, that afternoon proved to be on the warmer side for April. No complaints here! We took advantage of the lovely weather and searched Murray State’s campus to beautiful backgrounds and yummy light – which wasn’t hard to find!
My dear friend, Makenzie from Makenzie Lynn Photography second shot this wedding with me and I am beyond grateful for her help! Mommy brain IS a thing you guys! And thankfully, Makenzie knew exactly what might slip my mind because she was in my shoes not too long ago. I helped her out back in November and she graciously repaid the favor. Not only had I not shot a wedding in almost four months (off season is nice but it can mess with your head sometimes!), but it was also my first wedding back from maternity leave. Graeme is not even 1 month old yet and I’m already back at work! Makenzie knows how rough that can be so again, thank you Makenzie!
A couple things I took away from Tamela & Patrick’s special day: Both Tamela and Patrick have awesome family members! Everyone was on time and where they were suppose to be. I can’t tell you how much stress that can alleviate from the bride and groom’s already stress filled day. Tamela was all about the photos while Patrick was just focused on getting married… And I LOVE that he was so excited to finally call Tamela is wife! They adore each other and I know he’ll take great care of her. That’s all a high school best friend can hope for.
