A Rainy Manea’s Vineyard Wedding in Paducah Kentucky

For months they had planned for a destination wedding but as their desired guest list grew they realized it would be easier on everyone to have a hometown wedding. So approximately a month before Alyssa contacted me and quickly booked me to photograph their wedding. I was thrilled to do this for them especially because directly after booking we realized that Neil and I attended high school with the groom! Fast forward to the wedding day and it was calling for rain legit all day long. The day before Alissa and I texted back-and-forth to create a Plan B for portraits in case everything was rained out. I do offer a rain check sessions for a bride and groom portraits. Which is where the bride and groom get dressed up again and we can even return to the wedding location add another day when the weather is nice and therefore they get gorgeous bride and groom portraits at a more relaxed pace than the wedding day. But of course there is more work and not everybody wants to rent a tux again so it’s always my goal to take care of all of the portraits on the wedding day as they should.

One thing I have to give to Alissa and her entire family and wedding party is how perfectly flexible they all were. They fully understood that things that could be moved around, everything an exception to the ceremony, might need to be so that we could shoot portraits in a small pockets of time that it might not be raining. We were so lucky to not only get a few pockets without rain but also the rain fully stopped by the time the ceremony started! Alyssa and Rick were also Rockstars to do their first look with umbrellas in almost horizontal drizzle! Please enjoy my favorites from their day:
