A Spring Broadway UMC and Painted Tile Building Wedding | Paducah, KY

The forecast was calling for rain. Surprise, surprise. This spring season in Kentucky has been unusually rainy, but that never deters us from being able to capture a wedding day!! Sara and I had emailed back and forth to discuss umbrellas and how we would handle the weather situation. I could tell that she was disappointed at the potential of not having bride & groom portraits outside. But even more than that, they were really looking forward to having their first look outside, in front of Ted’s mother’s art work that covers their reception site.

Because these two shared a first look, they were able to have so many portraits captured in between the rain! Every time the clouds cleared for a few minutes, we would take them outside to snap a few more! Sara and Ted couldn’t have been more easy-going. They were hopeful for their first dance to also take place outside in the courtyard behind the reception venue and since they were so open on when I thought things should take place, we pushed their first dance back a little and the clouds cleared for good… their first dance was so gorgeous with their friends and family surrounding them and the twinkle lights above!
