Jordan & Gavin

A Lake Front Backyard Wedding on Kentucky Lake

THIS WEDDING! When I photographed Jordan & Gavin’s proposal a little over a year ago at Jordan’s parents’ lake front home I knew I would love shooting their wedding there! I arrived on the wedding day with the bustling of decorating – the reception tent was set in the front of Jordan’s parents house and the ceremony was set up on the brand new dock, built just for their wedding, on the lake shore in their backyard. Jordan was with her bridesmaids getting ready in her bedroom suite while Gavin and his groomsmen were getting ready in the walkout basement. Having everyone and everything at the same Location it made it easier on everyone, including the vendors! Another thing that made it easier on me and Jordan and Gavin was that they chose to have a first look. The portrait is that it we did directly after the first look, before the ceremony, we are filled with beautiful light. The bride and groom portraits we photographed after the ceremony lacked bright light which allowed us to shoot in the wide open backyard and highlight Jordan’s family home. Those portraits ended up being my favorite of the entire day! And of course much like a wedding that I photographed years ago where Jordan was a bridesmaid in, we had to have the ladies jumping into the pool after the night ended. I am so obsessed with this day!
