A Downtown Paducah Wedding
It came as no surprise to me, after photographing not one but TWO engagement sessions for Morgan & Cameron, that they’d be all for two Bride & Groom portrait times during their wedding day but what I wasn’t prepared for was to be in complete control of how long we did those two portrait times! In fact, neither of them cared when I asked to go a tad over!
My day started with Morgan and her girls at one of Paducah Harbor Plaza’s condos where more than a dozen people were gathered. Pretty much ANY condo in Downtown Paducah is excellent for a wedding party to get ready but this one is at the top for sure! Oh the light that streams from the back master bedroom! It was the perfect place for Morgan to get dressed! The condo itself was also large enough for everyone else to hang out and wait for the bride & bridesmaids’ First Look! I don’t do them often but if they’re all like Morgan & her girls’, then I’m missing out!
Morgan’s dear dad had his heart set on seeing her before the ceremony so as soon as we arrived at the church, we did their First Look – and it was the sweetest! Another First Look that I don’t do often enough!! Her dad continued to be one of the sweetest and most appreciative fathers I have ever worked with – and Morgan has two sisters so I’m praying this wasn’t my only time to work with Mr. Ray and Morgan’s family! The way Morgan & Cameron and I designed their timeline didn’t call for a Bride & Groom First Look so everyone was all eyes on Cameron when Morgan started down the aisle. Not a dry eye in the building! And usually I don’t mind having to stay put in the back of the church during Catholic wedding masses but I what I would have done to be closer to that alter to capture Cameron’s facial expresses more clearly!
Once Family Portraits were over, the wedding party and I boarded a trolly back to the condo for some AC and freshening up before we started TWO HOURS of portraits! I kid you not! Pretty sure no photographer was as happy as me last Saturday! See, it’s not always a bad thing when you have an early ceremony but want a dinner reception – just make more time for portraits in between! And because they allowed me two Bride & Groom portraits times, half way through the reception we headed back outside to the Paducah Riverfront for some extra yummy light. When we returned, their wedding party had done a bang up job getting everyone out of the dance floor and we all partied the night away!
Beautiful couple….WOW photos!!!
