A Barlow Kentucky Wedding

I get to see my couples, on average, 2 times – the engagement session and their wedding day. So much booking is done through email and online that the first time I meet a couple face to face is their engagement session. Then OF COURSE, I get to spend their wedding day with them, but the post wedding stuff is again done through email. Sometimes, if I’m lucky, I’ll get to text with the bride for months (even years) after their wedding. Double dates with our husbands are wonderful too! I love it when brides turn into friends!

But sometimes I get to spend way more time with my brides and couples than average and it just makes my heart so full! Lauren & Colby is one of those couples! Lauren booked with me through email but the first time I met here was not at her and Colby’s engagement session! She surprised her groom the night before their wedding with an album from her boudoir session I photographed back in January. Only a few weeks later I photographed Lauren & Colby’s Save the Date Session and their engagement session back in June. A week before their wedding I got some face to face with Lauren when I dropped off her boudoir album… needless to say, both Lauren & Colby were more than comfortable in front of my camera come their wedding day. It makes all the difference too!

Lauren’s parents graciously hosted almost all of the wedding day festivities this past Saturday. The girls got ready inside Lauren’s childhood home, the ceremony took place on their side yard, and the reception inside their giant metal siding barn! Having one wedding venue for the entire wedding day is way underrated you guys – it makes everything so much smoother! Enjoy my favorites from Lauren & Colby’s big day!
