A Classic Winter Downtown Paducah Kentucky Wedding

Late December wasn’t Olivia’s first choice for her wedding but her medical school schedule and the resident program following it really limited her and John on when they could get married. But if they couldn’t have a summer wedding, hopefully it would at least snow during their wedding in December, and how gorgeous would that be? Bride & Groom portraits in the snow! I know, as the photographer, I would love it! And then suddenly, this past weekend showed up with but high 60 degree temps instead of snow! Oh, that’s Kentucky weather for you! We took advantage of the warmth and did all that we could outside before the ceremony, which made this natural light photographer happy!

Olivia’s bridesmaids were so incredibly sweet. I honestly felt so undeserving of the compliments they gave us throughout the day. They were so kind, inclusive, and encouraging…. just like Olivia. It’s no wonder they are all such great friends and close family members! And those close friends and family members, in and outside of the bridal party, are what made that day amazing! The reception itself was one of the most fun receptions we’d been at in a long time.

Remember when I said Olivia had wished for snow? Her mom surprised her and made that happen for her, not just during the reception but also during their bride & groom portraits the next afternoon! It thrilled me to no end when they opted to add on a Day After session since they were having a night ceremony AND they chose to do a traditional reveal instead of a first look. And even though it was raining Sunday afternoon, you know how I love those umbrella portraits!

This wedding post is the LAST ONE of 2019 and I couldn’t think of a more perfect couple to end with than these two. Olivia & John, we love you both!
