I was cleaning out my closet a couple of weeks ago, changing out my fall and winter wardrobe for my spring and summer wardrobe, and I realized I still have all my scrubs from back when I worked in the pharmacy and the nursing home. Some were even from back when I worked at the pharmacies in Paducah. Including my two pair of nursing uniforms and white cotton lab coat for nursing school, there are probably 100 cotton scrubs in my closet!
There were a few points in my life when I thought I didn’t want to work in the medical field anymore, when I was more interested in accounting or web design. During those times I almost gave away or sold them all but I’m certainly glad I didn’t! Now that’ I’m halfway through nursing school, making plans for graduate programs, and interviewing for possible RN jobs after graduation I’m aware of how many scrubs I will actually need. I might have to purchase more, too!
Sometimes, tho, I’m reminded of how much I love photography – I’m in the process of editing my very first wedding! Well, as a second shooter that is. Fixing Katelyn’s wordpress blog and creating Jeannie’s new wordpress blog the other day made me really miss designing. But I do love nursing, as a field, and the best thing about both photography and web design is that I can still do them on the side. Hey, maybe one day I’ll be a full time photographer and doing nursing on the side!
In the mean time tho, I have a busy next few months!
April is the last month for nursing classes. I still have 5 clinical days and 4 exams left. I’m participating in a fund raiser photography session at my Alma Mater and a wedding rehearsal and wedding to shoot (as the first and only shooter!)
The first week in May is finals week, in which I have 4 finals. Yuck. I’m shooting a senior portrait session on the 14th, hosting a bridal shower on the 15th, my two summer classes start on the 16th, second shooting a wedding in Nashville on the 21st and one in Paducah on the 28th.
My sil is getting married on June 4th and my family leaves for our Disney cruise on the 6th. We’ll return on the 13th and I’ll return back to summer classes – very thankful that my professor is allowing my to miss a week for our cruise. I’m second shooter another Nashville wedding on the 25th and shooting a handful of portrait session throughout the month.
Things are still up in the air as far as July and August go but mainly I’ll be focusing on second shooting some weddings, shooting some portrait sessions, and working. Somewhere. Of course, I can’t forget my dear friend Jenny’s wedding and my and Neil’s 4th (FOURTH!) wedding anniversary! To top it all off, summer at the lake. It’s going to be a good time.
Can we have lots of lake days, please?
We are so appreciated of your help in the fundraiser too! I’m about to let the girls know the good news and get volunteers to help!!! Dr. Brenda Wilson, the advisor, is so excited about this!
4 years?? wow. I can’t even find and keep a bf for more then 2 years.
WOW!! That sounds like a really busy summer and next couple of months. Good luck!!!
